Prof. Debatosh Guha
  • Professor, Institute of Radio Physics and Electronics, University of Calcutta, India.
  • Debatosh Guha is a Professor of the Institute of Radio Physics and Electronics, University of Calcutta, India Abdul Kalam Technology Innovation National Fellow of INAE-DST/SERB, Govt. of India, and an Adjunct Professor at the National Institute of Technology Jaipur. He is formerly HAL Chair Professor of the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, Head of the Institute of Radio Physics and Electronics, and Director of the Centre for Research in Nanoscience and Nanotechnology of the University of Calcutta. He received the B. Tech. and M. Tech. degrees in Radio Physics and Electronics and Ph. D. in microwave engineering from the University of Calcutta in 1987, 1989, and 1994 respectively. He joined the same university as an assistant professor in 1994. He had undertaken his post-doctoral research at the Canadian defense university- Royal Military College of Canada, Ontario. He has been connected to different Universities and research institutes across the globe as a regular visitor and collaborator.

    Dr. Swades De
  • Professor, Dept. of Electrical Engineering and Head, Bharati School of Telecommunication, IIT Delhi, India
  • Dr. Swades De received BTech in Radiophysics and Electronics from the University of Calcutta, India (1993), MTech in optoelectronics and optical communication from IIT Delhi, India (1998), and Ph.D. in electrical engineering from the SUNY at Buffalo, USA (2004). He is a full professor of Electrical Engineering and an Institute Chair Professor at IIT Delhi, and currently the head of Bharti School of Telecommunication. He was a tenure-track assistant professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the New Jersey Institute of Technology, USA (2004-2007), he worked in ISTI-CNR, Pisa, Italy, as an ERCIM fellow (2004), and has nearly five years of industry experience on telecom hardware and software development (1993-1997, 1999). Dr. De's research interests are in communication networks, with emphasis on performance modeling and analysis. Current directions include energy harvesting, sustainable communication networks, broadband wireless access, network coexistence, and smart IoT communications. Dr. De has published over 220 research articles in top journals and conferences, several book chapters, and one edited book. He has one granted, two published, and several filed US/WO/Indian patents. Dr. De currently serves as an Area Editor for IEEE Communications Letters and Elsevier Computer Communication and Associate Editor for IEEE Transactions on Vehicular Technology and IEEE Wireless Communications Letters. Dr. De has received numerous awards and distinctions over his professional career; the recent ones include IEEE VTS Distinguished Lecturer (2022-2024), Abdul Kalam Technology Innovation National Fellowship (2021-2026), Om Prakash Bhasin award for Science and Technology (2019), IETE Ram Lal Wadhwa Award (2019), IEEE Communications Letters Exemplary Editor Award (2021, 2018), IEEE Communications Letters Exemplary Reviewer Award (2015). Dr. De is a Fellow of Indian National Academy of Engineering, Fellow of the National Academy of Sciences, India, Fellow of The Institute of Engineers, India, Fellow of IET, U.K., Fellow of IETE, India, and a Senior Member of the IEEE, USA.




    Dr S.E Talole
  • Outstanding Scientist, Research & Development Engineers, DRDO, Pune, India
  • S. E. Talole received a B.E. degree in electrical engineering from the Government College of Engineering, Amravati, India, an M.E. degree in aerospace engineering from the Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru, India, and a Ph.D. degree in nonlinear control from the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay, Mumbai, India, in 1987, 1989 and 2000, respectively. He was a Postdoctoral Research Scholar with the Flight Dynamics and Control Laboratory, University of California Irvine, Irvine, CA, USA. In 1989, he joined the Defence Research and Development Organization India, where he is currently a Professor with the Department of Aerospace Engineering, Defence Institute of Advanced Technology (DIAT), Girinagar, India. He has authored or co-authored more than 115 papers in various international and national journals and conferences. His research interests include nonlinear control and robust control based on uncertainty and disturbance estimation with applications in in-flight guidance and control, robotics, and control of marine vehicles. Dr. Talole was a recipient of the DIAT Researcher of the Year Award in 2007, the Laboratory Scientist of the Year Award in 2002, and honored with the DRDO Scientist of the Year Award in 2010. He is a Fellow of The Institution of Engineers (India), The Aeronautical Society of India, and The Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers and a Life Member of the Astronautical Society of India.

    Dr. Ramanathan Venkateswaran
  • Professor of Practice, Gokhale Institute of Politics and Economics, Pune
  • Dr Venkateswaran (Venki), currently engaged as a professor of at Practice at Gokhale Institute of Politics and Economics, Pune, is an industry thought leader with more than 30 years of IT Industry experience. He was associated with Persistent Systems for 20+ years and had undertaken various leadership roles during his stint there. Prior to Persistent, he worked for 7 years as a researcher at Bell Laboratories and also in the CTO office at Lucent Technologies. He is actively associated with several academic institutes and works towards fostering the Industry-Academia interactions. He earned his B.Tech and M.Tech in Computer Science from IIT Bombay and has a PhD in Computer Science from Washington State University. He holds multiple patents and has authored numerous research papers. He is a member of the ACM India Council and chairs the Computing for Society initiative. He is active in ACM Education initiatives and delivers technical sessions to students across India as part of the ACM India Eminent Speaker Program.





    Dr. Armstrong Aboah

  • Dr Elias Aboutanios is a Professor with the School of Electrical Engineering and Telecommunications. He received his BE in Electrical Engineering from UNSW in 1997 and his PhD from UTS in 2002. His PhD research was on the estimation of frequency for the frequency tracking for communications with a low earth orbit satellite. From 2003 to 2007 he was a postdoctoral fellow at the Institute for Digital Communications at the University of Edinburgh, where he conducted research on space-time adaptive processing for radar target detection. From 2007 to 2018 he was a senior lecturer at UNSW and associate professor from 2019 until 2022. His research interests include Signal and Image Processing, Parameter Estimation, Array Signal Processing, Radar and sonal singal processing, NMR Signal Processing, Space System Dr Aboutanios is currently conducting research in the areas of nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy, global navigation satellite systems (such as GPS), radar target detection, biologically inspired signal processing, power systems and smart grids, and theoretical signal processing. He is also active in the research of teaching methodologies and course design. In particular, Dr Aboutanios has developed a new course on electrical engineering design and has established the masters program in satellite systems engineering. He also has an active interest in satellite technology and in particular cubesats. He set up UNSW's involvement in the European QB50 project and led the UNSW-EC0 project that resulted in the launch of the satellite in 2017. Dr Aboutanios is a member of the Space Industry Association of Australia's Legislation Working Group. He has made multiple submissions to the Australian Government's review of the Space Activities Act.




    Dr. R Swaminathan
  • Associate Professor, Department of Electrical Engineering, IIT Indore
  • Dr. Swaminathan is currently working as an Associate Professor with the Department of Electrical Engineering at IIT Indore. Earlier, he completed his PhD from IIT Kharagpur and worked as a Research Fellow at Nanyang Technological University (NTU) Singapore and as an Assistant Professor at IIT Indore. He is also currently serving as a CEO of IITI Advanced Centre for Entrepreneurship (ACE) Foundation (i.e. Incubation Centre of IIT Indore) and Professor-in-Charge of Centre for Entrepreneurship Education and Development (CEED), IIT Indore. He is the author or co-author of more than 60 reputed journal and IEEE conference publications. Further, he has also secured four funded research projects as a Principal Investigator (PI) from DST-SERB and CSIR, as well as completed two consultancy projects for Airtel and Danish Management, Denmark (consulting firm for India-European Union standardization project). His current research interests include but not limited to Modelling and Analysis of various 5G and 6G Wireless Technologies (in Physical Layer) such as Space-air-ground integrated networks (SAGIN), Hybrid Free Space Optics (FSO) / Radio Frequency (RF) Communication, Aerial Platforms (UAV/HAPS)-assisted FSO Communication, Terahertz (THz) Communication, Intelligent Reflecting Surfaces (IRS)-aided FSO/RF/THz Systems, etc. and Intelligent Receiver Design for Future Generation Communication Systems using Conventional and Machine/Deep Learning Techniques. He has been recently honored as Exemplary Reviewer for IEEE Communications Letters, 2021 and elevated to IEEE Senior Member since April 2023.
