Dr. Swades De

Dr. Swades De

Dr. Swades De received B.Tech in Radiophysics and Electronics from the University of Calcutta, India (1993), M.Tech in optoelectronics and optical communication from IIT Delhi, India (1998), and Ph.D. in electrical engineering from the SUNY at Buffalo, USA (2004). He is a full professor of Electrical Engineering and an Institute Chair Professor at IIT Delhi, and currently the head of Bharti School of Telecommunication.

He was a tenure-track assistant professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the New Jersey Institute of Technology, USA (2004-2007), he worked in ISTI-CNR, Pisa, Italy, as an ERCIM fellow (2004), and has nearly five years of industry experience on telecom hardware and software development (1993-1997, 1999).

Dr. De's research interests are in communication networks, with emphasis on performance modeling and analysis. Current directions include energy harvesting, sustainable communication networks, broadband wireless access, network coexistence, and smart IoT communications. Dr. De has published over 220 research articles in top journals and conferences, several book chapters, and one edited book. He has one granted, two published, and several filed US/WO/Indian patents.

Dr. De currently serves as an Area Editor for IEEE Communications Letters and Elsevier Computer Communication and Associate Editor for IEEE Transactions on Vehicular Technology and IEEE Wireless Communications Letters. Dr. De has received numerous awards and distinctions over his professional career; the recent ones include IEEE VTS Distinguished Lecturer (2022-2024), Abdul Kalam Technology Innovation National Fellowship (2021-2026), Om Prakash Bhasin award for Science and Technology (2019), IETE Ram Lal Wadhwa Award (2019), IEEE Communications Letters Exemplary Editor Award (2021, 2018), IEEE Communications Letters Exemplary Reviewer Award (2015).

Dr. De is a Fellow of Indian National Academy of Engineering, Fellow of the National Academy of Sciences, India, Fellow of The Institute of Engineers, India, Fellow of IET, U.K., Fellow of IETE, India, and a Senior Member of the IEEE, USA.

Outstanding Scientist, R&D establishment (Engineers) DRDO Pune India

S. E. Talole received a B.E. degree in electrical engineering from the Government College of Engineering, Amravati, India, an M.E. degree in aerospace engineering from the Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru, India, and a Ph.D. degree in nonlinear control from the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay, Mumbai, India, in 1987, 1989 and 2000, respectively. He was a Postdoctoral Research Scholar with the Flight Dynamics and Control Laboratory, University of California Irvine, Irvine, CA, USA.

In 1989, he joined the Defence Research and Development Organization India, where he is currently a Professor with the Department of Aerospace Engineering, Defence Institute of Advanced Technology (DIAT), Girinagar, India. He has authored or co-authored more than 115 papers in various international and national journals and conferences. His research interests include nonlinear control and robust control based on uncertainty and disturbance estimation with applications in in-flight guidance and control, robotics, and control of marine vehicles.

Dr. Talole was a recipient of the DIAT Researcher of the Year Award in 2007, the Laboratory Scientist of the Year Award in 2002, and honored with the DRDO Scientist of the Year Award in 2010. He is a Fellow of The Institution of Engineers (India), The Aeronautical Society of India, and The Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers and a Life Member of the Astronautical Society of India.

Dr. Soumitra Keshari Nayak

Dr. Soumitra Keshari Nayak is a Doctorate in Sensors & Signal Processing from IIT Bombay. He has completed his M.Tech from the Dept. of Instrumentation & Electronics (IEE), Jadavpur University, Kolkata and B.Tech in Applied Electronics & Instrumentation (AEIE) from Biju Patnaik University of Technology (BPUT), Odisha. He has published a US patent and several research articles in reputed Journals & IEEE conference proceedings held in India and abroad. He has also been a Reviewer in several peer-reviewed Journals and Conferences.

Dr. Soumitra Keshari Nayak is a recipient of the MHRD, GoI fellowship during his M.Tech and Ph.D. He is an IEEE professional member of the Sensors & System council. His research interests include Sensor Systems, System Modeling, Statistical Signal Processing, State Estimation Techniques, Smart IoT, and Embedded System Design.

Dr. Anirban Bhowmick

Dr. Anirban Bhowmick has completed his Ph.D from Birla Institute of Technology & Science, Mesra. He worked as a Postdoctoral fellow in Sound and Audio Group at IISc Bangalore where, he worked on the project of Audio Analytics funded by DRDO. He completed his M.E. with distinction from Birla Institute of Technology & Science. He has almost six years of teaching experience and has also served two years as an IEEE student branch counsellor at IMS Engineering College, Ghaziabad.

He has published more than 25 papers in International Journals and Conferences. He is a reviewer of many reputed journals namely, Multidimensional System and Signal Processing, Applied Acoustic, IET Signal Processing, Computers and Electrical engineering, IEEE Access and many more. His research interest areas are Speech and Audio Processing, Speech Enhancement, Speech Recognition, Language identification and Audio Event Detection.
